The Path

This area is mostly about how I came to find the craft and my magickal name. If you're looking more for facts about my character traits go here

After I had researched Paganism to my satisfaction and it was quite evident this was my path. I went on a quest for my magickal name. Everyone said be patient, it'll just come to you. Phhhhfffftttt...thats what I said to that!!!!! I honestly thought I would spend the rest of my magickal life nameless. Then one day something just clicked with me. I was excited and had to tell my sister the good news. I said I'm sure you'd like "SisterLittleWitch" better but...... Why I said that I have no idea but "SisterLittleWitch" is the one that stuck. It wasn't until later my sister brought to my attention that she liked it so much cause it sounded very Native American, which was always a big part of my belief system. Even as a child I was always drawn to and fascinated with the Native American ways.

As an adult my career ventured off into Natural Health and Healing and I believe this was the beginning of my path. I know my Mother was appalled when I designed a Medicine Womans armband and to her dismay my left arm proudly sports the tattoo (shown below). Earth based religions....(and I use that term very loosely cause I view it more a lifestyle then a religion)..had piqued my interest and the more I researched, the more the simplicity of it all ignited a fire in my belly that could not be explained nor extinguished.

Although unaware of it at the time my tattoo has played a major role in finding me and my path. I know how silly that must sound. You see when I was trying to decide on a tattoo the place I had decided on was alittle hesitant about putting an armband on me. He thought it to be a very "bold" place for a "woman" to want one. So he asked me to "convince" him I was serious. This is how and why I decided to create my own tattoo.

Well I went to a few reserves and asked some of the elders there if they could tell me what a "medicine man/woman" armband looked like. Most of them just looked at me like I had three heads but one older man whom was seated out front of a store told me in very broken english that, a "medicine man" was different from that of a warrior or hunter. In that he/she had to make up their own armband and when it was right...they just knew. He took my hand and said.....you will just know. And never be afraid to add to it as your path changes

I never forgot what the old man told me and although my tattoo wasn't a professional stencil it meant something to me and wasn't just something I slapped on there to be cool. This came to mean so much more after reading the meaning behind the pentacle. The pentacle meaning and what my tattoo represented to me were almost one and the same. I never viewed my tatt as a source of protection like that of the pentacle but it did represent who I was and what I believed in.
